Ridiculous! This guy either does not understand what "Spot Price" actually means as it relates to .999 Fine Silver (Pure) bars vs .900 Coin Silver or he intentionally tries to rip off the folks that do not know better.
Considering they just opened I am giving it 5 stars because the people are very nice and kind which makes a huge difference in my mind also their stock is building and unlike most pawn shops they have Muir unusual items that you would see in a gallery or something and they have awesome prices nice place good parking
Photo below is a 1 oz. silver bar from one of the leading and most well respected silver bar producers in this country. As anyone can clearly see it even states on the front (law requires them to) the fitness of the silver content. He said he would only pay 90% of the current spot price even for a SOLID silver bar.
Seriously, I did not wish to write this but I even called back later that day to make sure I was not dealing with an employee that was mistaken but no, it was the same guy. I asked him to help me understand the logic in how he could justify paying coin silver "melt value" for a solid silver bullion bar. He snapped at me and said "well that's why I am in business and you're not"!
Super Fast and Friendly; Paid more than local pawn shops for my Scrap Gold!
Unfortunately, this is another example of young kids getting scammed at the big retail jewelry stores. Gold Kings right now has a Platinum Diamond Cross Pendant and also a 14k Gold Diamond Cross pendant for $80.00 each +Tax. This poor kid paid $800 for a .925 sterling silver diamond pendant and wanted to sale it for what he got scammed at a retail store for. Once we enlighten him concerning the truth of the mark up that retail store prices, he has a snowflake melt down and resorts to taking his anger out on the ONLY store that told him the TRUTH. I guess he should of Bought his jewelry from GoldKings! Kids these days. lol
Do yourself a favor and NEVER GO HERE!!!
That last line speaks VOLUMES! He is right, I am not in the business because I can't sleep at night routinely ripping people off that don't know better.
these guys are awesome! they pay more than any other pawn shop around this area!!
IN REPLY TOO: We went to two jewelry places to see if our necklace was real and both tested positive for real diamond's.and the owner of this place said our $800 diamond necklace was fake.
If you are hard up for cash and are willing to get ripped a new one in the process then he is your man!
Follow Up To Company Response Made: He just made my point! If the silver "Spot Price" is, say, $15.50/ oz. and a person buys it at spot, they then turn around and sell that same silver at spot + premium. That is where legitimate businesses make their money. The premium above spot -- unless of course your greed is so great that you wish to make even greater profit by ripping off people that are naive. In that case you would then do business in your manner and only pay a person BELOW SPOT so you can then make more money.
Face it bud, you and I both know what spot price is and we both know what you are doing to those that are in desperate need of cash. I just happened to not be neither desperate nor naive! I would suggest anyone just do a simple google search on what the current spot price is for gold or silver at any given time and then see what he tries to offer you. You will quickly see that he is trying to take advantage of you.
The first line in his response should have actually said: "It's unfortunate that we occasionally run into customers that actually know what a spot price is".
